Ram Narayanamurthy
Bio:
Ram Narayanamurthy leads the existing buildings area at the California Energy Commission, where his team works on an overall building decarbonization strategy for the state of California and runs the Building Benchmarking Program. Prior to the CEC, Ram was deputy director of the Building Technologies Office with more than two decades of experience in development and deployment of building technologies. During his time at DOE, Ram led the development and implementation of the R&D portfolio at BTO, Ram was one of the primary authors for the National Building Blueprint and the Affordable Homes Earthshot. Ram has extensive experience working on grid integration of customer technologies through his work at DOE and prior to DOE, at EPRI where he led the Advanced Buildings research program. Ram holds 27 patents in holds 27 patents across a breadth of building technologies, including HVAC, water heating, solar, and controls. He has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
