Eric M. Vogel is Executive Director of the Institute for Matter and Systems and the College of Engineering Dean’s Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a courtesy appointment in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research focuses on the synthesis, structure, properties, and applications of electronic and nanoscale materials and devices, including two-dimensional materials, atomic layer deposition, advanced transistors, neuromorphic devices, and biosensors. Before joining Georgia Tech in 2011, he was a faculty member at the University of Texas at Dallas and previously led the Semiconductor and Novel Devices Group and founded the Nanofab at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University and his B.S. in electrical engineering from Penn State University. He has published more than 240 journal papers and proceedings and delivered more than 100 invited talks and tutorials.
